Warmth of the Season

It’s that wonderful time of the year when we want to create warmth in our surroundings and celebrate the season. Imagine your home with simplified, holiday decorations that bring you joy. Candles scattered throughout, sparkle decor for some bling and spiced cider scents all come to mind as great options. A new centerpiece or garland greenery can make your home season ready in a snap.

Sometimes less is more when it comes to decorating for the holidays. We love this simple dining table centerpiece that says welcome to the season, but in a very subtle and understated way!

We love this fresh idea of garland over the doors with an emphasis on organic greenery throughout the space. It feels casual, crisp and clean! There is so much JOY in simplicity.

Feeling Fall”ish”

Let’s welcome the fall season into our homes! Begin on the outside with decor highlighting seasonal colors. Moving inside, set the tone by adding colors of the season with an inviting throw, or perhaps a few pillows to celebrate autumn. Adding a signature fall fragrance welcomes guests from the moment they step inside. Consider using cinnamon, apple spice, gingered pear, warm vanilla or your signature favorite. Finish off your fall transition with an updated tablescape in your dining space, welcoming everyone to the fall season. Adding a new seasonal recipe or a pumpkin spice latte, to the mix, completes your fall welcome.

Feeling Fall “ish” begins at your front entry. A rustic twig grouping like this can easily be further embellished for Halloween. Try adding some beautiful seasonal planters spilling over with fall foliage or hang your favorite door wreath to greet your guests!

For this beautiful season, wrap up in a cozy throw. Tossing a throw over the arm of a chair, or back of a sofa, leaves an open invitation to curl up with a good read.

Bringing The Outdoors In!

Plants have been a prominent feature of interior design for centuries. They make spaces more inviting, bring that all-important organic quality to a room and are all the rage! There are so many ways to incorporate plants into a design so they enhance the objects around them.

Okay, you may be thinking, I’m not a green thumb. It’s okay, we’re not either! Others of you may be thinking — I’ve been there, done that…. with the old dusty ficus tree or the overdone floral arrangement as the table centerpiece – both of which landed in the spring garage sale! Take a look at these images and see how you can rethink your indoor plants in a fresh new way!

Try adding some permanent “faux” greenery — think palms, ferns, grasses or even a bamboo plant. Add a colorful, bright orchid (fresh or faux) to your cocktail table, or place an interesting succulent on top of a stack of books on a bookshelf. Trees and taller plants can be great solutions if you are looking to add height to a room or fill an awkward space.

You can never go wrong with fresh flowers from your garden (or in our case, supermarket!) Just remember to keep the water fresh, cut stems at an angle and remove all the leaves below the water line.

We like to think of this look as “Tropical Glam”. Palm fronds definitely add a fresh statement to a room. Adding a few stems to a decorative glass vase with narrow opening is a great accessory for a bright interior.

Nothing says “Welcome” like a beautiful orchid. Add a touch of garden-inspired elegance to your decor. This “pop-of-pink” brings interest to an otherwise neutral room.

Fresh flowers are a quick way to add color and life to a space that otherwise lacks warmth. Especially in a kitchen this fabulous.

We love seeing greenery in any room, even the bathroom. Not only is it simple and effective, it’s a way to connect with the outdoors.

Greetings from Pamela Neel Interiors!

We are excited to share our first Be Inspired blog post. Our goal is to inspire you, share helpful tips, and keep you up-to-date with industry trends as well as what’s happening here at PNI.

There is no shortage of inspiration out there, websites like Pinterest and Houzz, decorating sites and blogs, magazines, etc. are full of beautiful and inspiring ideas. But inspiration can literally come from anywhere; art, fashion, architecture, nature, travel, food, people. If it’s around us, it can inspire us.

At PNI, we find inspiration everywhere. If we see something that speaks to us, we usually snap a picture of it with our cell phones. Here’s a picture of one of our fabric trade showrooms, where we find a lot of our inspiration when developing a color palette.  Continue reading
